Göteborgsvarvet was done! My first long distance running after more than a year of training. I made it at 1:55:25. It was better than I expected. I thought I did 2 hours something but it turned out to be faster than that in the end. I loved the energy of people cheering along the way and I heard my name several times as well. I also did high-five with a lot of people especially the kids. They were just waiting to high-five the runners. It was so fun and uplifting.
On the day, the weather was kind of nice but it was bit too warm. I drank water at every station after the first 5km. There were people collapsing and having cramp from time to time. Luckily, I didn’t have any issue while running. Though it was my left leg that hurt afterwards. I limped for a few days after the run. For now, I would probably take a break from running until my left leg heals completely. It hurt for a few times when I trained recently and I though it was all fine on the day. However, the days after were not fun.
Here are some photos from the day.
Thank you Afry for sponsoring the ticket :)
See you another time,
