May It Be Green

Hello there,

Around late April, I planted some herbs from small plants and from seeds. One month later they grew up super fast although the weather was still cold. It was probably because of the sunlight. The balcony was facing south so there was sunlight the whole afternoon. They grew so much faster and thicker than when they were in my previous apartment.

Sage, parsley, and mint survived the winter. Chive came back from the soil. I was so surprised when it shot out of the soil because it was the first one that died last year. I thought it was completely gone. I planted dill and coriander from their seeds that I collected last year. I had to replant thyme, rosemary and lemon balm from small plants this year. This time I also added lemon thyme and wild strawberry to the pot, and planted red basil in separate pots too. Let’s see if I could harvest some wild strawberry this summer.

Sadly 3 of 4 small plants died after the winter. Orange coral bell, holly, Japanese andromeda didn’t survive the winter. Only the silver coral bell managed but it turned completely purple instead. I didn’t know why. Anyhow, I was planning to get new small plants this year as my balcony was full of sunlight. I didn’t want to miss a chance!

This month I turned 38 years old. I hosted cheese fondue dinner at my place with some colleagues. It was a lovely evening full of cheese and wine. I also received flowers and a birthday gift with a card made by my colleague-Marijn XD. It was a good day :)

Here is the dessert that I made this month-lemon posset brûlée. Very simple and delicious!

See you another time,
Best
