Very Warm Vacation

Hi there,

My summer vacation already started. The weather was actually quite alright but stormy on some days. There were some really warm days and heavily rainy days. Though I would say it was quite a good start of my vacation. It was worse in some years in the past when it was cold and rainy.

Because it was summer, my plants on my balcony just went crazy! Some were quite sluggish and struggling last month. Just when it got warmer, they went all out *_* Some started to flower. Dills and corianders already began to produce some seeds. Oreganos, basils, and one of my coral bells were flowering. I had some bugs visiting everyday. There were also some mushrooms popping up from time to time. My balcony just became lively and cozier :)

This month I didn’t get only plants on my balcony, but also an indoor plant. I got a new Botanicals Lego set-Japanese maple bonsai :D

Apart from the apartment updates, I arranged a Club Afry activity (social activity at Afry) at Delsjön. We did a kayak/SUP group activity at the lake. We were very lucky with the weather on the day. It rained for some days during that week but it turned out to be quite nice on the day. It was cloudy and warm enough. We even got some sunlight during the activity. Overall, I called it a success for my first time arranging such group activity at Afry!

And for this summer vacation, I visited Delsjön again on a very warm and sunny day. My friend-Johannes and I rode a bike to the lake. There were so many people on the day. The water was refreshing. On another day, we rode to Saltholmen, sitting on the rock and took a quick dip in the sea. They were pretty nice trips!

Moreover, I arranged raclette dinners at my place a couple of times. It was delicious experience. So I got my own raclette grill/fondue :D I was so looking forward to future meals! 

Here is my first papaya salad (som-tam) all by myself! Actually it was kohlrabi, not green papaya. However, the taste and texture were really similar to green papaya! It was a bit tricky to slice it into pieces but it wasn’t that difficult. Marco, Stephanie and I sat on my balcony and ate it with sticky rice and grilled chicken, just like people eat in Thailand :D

Lastly, the bake of this month was strawberry shortcake. It was my first time baking this kind of cake. It was quite simple and turned out to be pretty big. Thus I shared with several people to help me finish it.
