New Balcony Plants
Hi there,
This month was so fast! I was busy with lots of things-both at work and at home. At home, I got 4 new plants for my balcony-Ilex (holly) Blue Angel, Heuchera (coral bell) orange and silver, and Pieris japonica (Japanese andromeda) Flaming Silver. They all can tolerate winter (evergreen except coral bells because they weren’t green). I really hoped they would stay with me for a very long time.

At Afry, this month I got to participate in CPR training. It was my first time learning to do it practically. I only learned the theory in high-school but never got to try it. It was actually more difficult than I thought. Though it was a good training.

I also participated in Stafettvarvet with my Afry colleagues-Felicia and Eva-Heidi. Since there were only 3 of us in the team, I had to run 2 legs but it was about 3 km per leg. So it wasn’t bad. Then we picnicked in the park later. It was quite a fun evening I must say :)

This weekend I attended another opera with Club Afry-Madam Butterfly. It was a very sad story and lots of drama. I wasn’t sure if this was my type of opera as it was so emotional. Comparing to other operas that I saw-Don Giovani and Carmen, they were funner and more exciting. I guessed I started to learn more about myself.

For the dessert of this month, I baked pies. They were strawberry pie and rhubarb pie. For the strawberry pie, I used the pre-made and unbaked pie crust from supermarket. It was smördeg so it puffed up so much. The texture was pretty nice and similar to croissant, but not that crumbling.

For the rhubarb pie, I made the pie crust by myself. It was quite easy. There were only flour, cold butter, and cold water. It turned out good too. The texture was like cookies. I was satisfied with my bakes this month.

See you later,
Best
